Meet the nk brass

NK Brass Performers Mission Statement:

NK Brass was founded on excellence.  It is our mission to strive for the highest level of musicality and professionalism in both rehearsal and performance.  NK Brass has a professional atmosphere that promotes a genuine fellowship.

 

 Trumpets:

 

Tramayne Roberson (TJ)-

Tramayne graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Music Education. Tramayne has been involved in music since the fourth grade. He has been very successful with several local high schools and their marching band programs. He has also completed a very successful experience in his student teaching. Tramayne has hopes to be teaching at a high school in the neighboring area for the 2008- 2009 school year. Tramayne studied trumpet privately with Brian Neal throughout his high school career and with Dr. Jon Gresham during his college career.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Matt Keeler -

Matt is a freshman at Northern Kentucky University.  He has been interested in trumpet since he began playing in the third grade.  In high school he attended the Kentucky Music Educators Association Convention as Principal in the All-State Orchestra and played 4th and Lead for the All-State Jazz Ensemble. He also plays with the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra. Matt is very pleased to have a part in NK Brass.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

French Horn:

Chris Gabennesch -

Chris Gabennesch is currently an art major at Northern Kentucky University where he is studying to be an art teacher. He participates in both the University's concert band and symphonic winds. He has played the french horn since eighth grade, and has been interested in music since early childhood.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Trombone:

Travis A. Richards

Currently, Travis is a Senior Music Performance and Education major Northern Kentucky University studying Trombone under David Dunevant.  Travis has performed with many ensembles, including:  NKU Symphonic Winds and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.  Besides performing, Travis has written many compositions and has arranged many pieces, including works for the NK Brass and Neverending Nights Machinima.  Visit his website for more information.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tuba:

Greg Pearcy Jr.

Greg Graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education.  Greg sstudied tuba under Tim Olt and Michael Thornton.  He has performed in several ensembles including the Kincaid Regional Theatre and St. Timothy's Brass Quintet.  He has worked several marching band groups in both Ohio and Kentucky.  Currently, Greg is substitute teaching in Northern Kentucky and teaching low bras master classes at Woodland Middle School.
